Underclass frustrations opened the door to white Doric domination of ancient Greece, but the historical record is conspicuously silent in regard to the mechanisms employed in bringing this transition about. One of the few sources available for reconstructing possible events is buried in the hero myth of Herakles.

In retelling the story of Herakles, few ever start at the beginning.

To distinguish child from parent, Herakles devises a plan to surpass the expectations of the Greek world. They vow to capture Sparta.
